JOHANNESBURG – Sept. 29, 2016 – Agility, a leading global logistics provider, today announced the winners of its Africa 2016 Photo Competition, a series of photographs that show how quickly Africa is modernizing, growing and even leading the way in new technology.
The annual contest, now in its second year, is a pan-Africa photography competition focusing on Africa’s rapid modernization. This year’s competition drew more than 2,500 photographs from professional and amateur photographers in 30 countries.
The winning images depicted a fisherman in a canoe on Lake Victoria on his laptop, a solar farm in Rwanda powering 15,000 homes, and the skyline of Harare, Zimbabwe. [Read more…]
Agility joins Maersk Line Carbon Pact initiative to cut CO2 by 15%
BAAR, Switzerland – September 26, 2016 – Agility, a leading global logistics provider, has signed an agreement with Maersk Line, the world’s largest container ship operator, to cut CO2 emissions by 15% per container transported on Agility shipments by 2020.
The agreement is part of Maersk’s Carbon Pact Challenge, an initiative under which the ocean carrier and its customers work together to drive down harmful emissions and reduce the environmental impact of shipping. [Read more…]
Top Agility executive recognized at 2016 CEO Middle East Awards
DUBAI — Sept. 20, 2016 – Agility chief executive Tarek Sultan was named Industry CEO of the Year at the CEO Middle East awards, an annual ceremony held in recognition of the region’s most successful and innovative corporate leaders.

Agility today announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2016, reporting a net profit of KD 15 million, an increase of 11% compared to the second quarter of 2015. Earnings-per-share stood at 13.06 fils, and EBITDA stood at KD 29 million, a 12% increase compared to Q2 of 2015. Revenues were KD 309 million for the quarter.

Deal strengthens Agility in strategic market, gives Super Group access to global network
DUBAI – June 29, 2016 – Leading global logistics provider Agility announced that it has formed a joint venture in South Africa with Super Group, a Johannesburg-based supply chain management and transportation specialist, after acquiring a minority stake in Super Group’s freight forwarding unit.
SG Agility Proprietary Ltd. will be led by Henk Theron, formerly CEO of Micor, Super Group’s freight forwarding business. Super Group, listed on the Johannesburg Securities Exchange, is a leader in South Africa’s supply chain and contract logistics market.
Super Group’s Micor unit has been a global strategic partner for Agility since 2005. The new venture, SG Agility, will offer local and multinational customers a range of logistics and supply chain solutions, including air freight, ocean freight, road freight, customs clearance, warehousing, and distribution.
