Hurricane Irene & USA Operations

Hurricane Irene is expected to reach the North Eastern US by early Sunday, August 28th, impacting flight operations at EWR, LGA, JFK, PHL and BOS airports. Strike by German air traffic controllers on 9th August

German air traffic controllers have announced that they will stage a six-hour walkout tomorrow 9th August 2011. The union representing the controllers said no civilian flights would be handled in Germany between 06.00 and 12.00 hrs (local time).

China Update: Typhoon Muifa

Shanghai: Sunday, 7th August, 14:00
After approaching Eastern China Muifa took on a more northerly course and is not expected to cross landfall before tomorrow. The strong winds and rainfall have caused flight disruptions at Shanghai Pudong and Hongqaio airports and all flights were cancelled up to 14:00 on Sunday.  Port operations have also been affected.
