Philippines Office Update

Agility Philippines has resumed full operations today, August 8. However, widespread flooding is expected to cause some impact to operations for the next few days at least.
Other Agility sites in Cebu and Davao continue with their normal operations.

Typhoon Haikui to Hit East China

Tropical storm Haikui has been upgraded to Typhoon status and is expected to make landfall by midnight tonight, impacting the coastal cities of Ningbo and Wenzhou.
The China Meteorological Administration has issued a red alert for Haikui, the highest so far this year.

Muscat Air Cargo Terminal Congestion

Muscat Air Cargo Terminal has been facing severe congestion and delays for the past two weeks. Ground handling agent Oman Air has placed a complete embargo until midnight on 9 August 2012 for all shipments arriving at the Muscat airport.

Typhoon Saola Hitting Taiwan

Please be informed that Typhoon Saola is approaching Taiwan. The Government Authority has announced that all schools and offices, including Taoyuan International Airport customs, will be closed tomorrow, August 2. Communication and service from our Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung offices may be delayed.

Update – Brazil Customs Strike

Brazil customs officers are still on strike and working slowly. The strike may disrupt cargo flow at seaports, airports and bonded warehouses for more several weeks. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.

Hong Kong Typhoon Doksuri

Typhoon signal number 8 was issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 11:20 p.m. tonight (June 29).  Local transportation, terminal and airport operations are impacted and shipments out of Hong Kong and South China may experience longer transit.

Update – Korea Cargo Transport Workers’ Strike

The Korea Cargo Transport Workers’ Union and the Korean government reached an agreement today and as a result, the union has announced it will end the strike and return to work on Saturday, June 30.
Therefore, all container movements related to ocean export and import will return to normal beginning June 30.

Update – Korea Cargo Transport Workers’ Strike

Because of the Korea Cargo Transport Workers’ strike that began on June 25, most inland transportation has stopped. Today, more than 60% of container movement in Korean ocean import/export was stopped.

Korea Cargo Transport Workers’ Strike

The Korea Cargo Transport Workers’ Union began a strike at 7:00 a.m. today. The strike includes the Busan Port area.
There may be serious delays to cargo transportation, to include pick-up and delivery of ocean FCL and LCL, and air freight.
