Industrial Incident in Tianjin Container Port

Dear Valued Customer,

On Wednesday, 12 August 2015 at approximately 23:20 local time (15:30 GMT), the Tianjin container port in China was hit by two large explosions that originated from within shipping containers used by a local logistics company to store hazardous goods such as flammable gases and liquids and toxic chemicals.

Due to the significant damage caused by the blasts, most terminals and depot operations at Tianjin port have been temporarily halted, with only a few terminals resuming operations gradually. Container pickup and return services are not possible at present. Traffic surrounding the port area is also frozen.

Agility China has established an emergency response team to manage the situation by taking stock of impacted shipments and exploring contingency measures to mitigate any service disruption.  We are in close contact with all relevant departments to ascertain the estimated recovery time and to keep our customers updated on developments at the port.

If you have any queries regarding your cargo at Tianjin port, please contact your local customer service representative at +86-22-5885 3658. Alternatively, you can also contact the following Agility representatives:
