Operations at ports and marine terminals on the US East Coast are resuming today, Monday, August 29, 2011, after the passing of Hurricane Irene.
Initial reports from our branch offices located at port facilities ranging from Boston to Miami state that most ports are open for business as usual, with electrical power fully restored, and all gates open for handling containers.
The only port reporting significant delays to operations is the Port of Baltimore in Maryland.
The Port of NY/NJ complex at Elizabeth, NJ is experiencing some minor vessel delays, specifically at APM Terminals, where the m/v Maersk Idaho v1111, scheduled to sail on Sunday, August 28, 2011, is still in port.
We will provide an update on the situation at the ports of Baltimore and New York once we have further information available to us.
