Six Libyan ports frozen by the European Union

In sanctions imposed on Muammar Gaddafi’s government the European Union agreed to freeze six Libyan ports.

EU officials say they will make it illegal for European-operated ships to do business with the port authorities. A wide ranging asset freeze and travel ban has also already been imposed from the EU.

This can cause delays for any shipments to the following ports: Tripoli, Zuara, Zawiyah, Al-Khoms, Ras Lanuf and Brega.
