Train drivers strike in Germany

On Thursday the longest train drivers’ strike in the current wage dispute has hit the freight and passenger transport in Germany badly. Between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. around 800 drivers stopped nationwide their work. Most services were cancelled or suffered massive delays. Freight services had been affected by the strike already on Wednesday evening. 500 drivers took part and more than 600 trains arrived at their destinations either late or not at all. On Thursday, urban, regional and national services were all hit badly, while busy hubs on Germany’s long-distance network, including Frankfurt, Cologne and Munich, were particularly affected by the walkouts. We have to inform you that some containers from Agility customers are affected as well and suffer delay. We will keep you informed as soon as we have any news about the further development.
